Course Summary

This introductory series of classes assumes no previous experince with UNIX.

We will begin by looking into the history & culture of development of the UNIX OS, then become familiar with the command line interface, later we'll work with utilities such as text editors and mail programs. You will have the oppurtunity to learn about processes through writing simple shell scripts. Finally, you will begin to work with UNIX in one of its more universal applications, the web.
You will leave this series equipped to take on the next level of study in our certification program- Webserver Administration. At this point you will not be an expert. However, you will be in a position to do what every UNIX expert does-teach yourself and learn from a network of others on the path.
Enjoy yourself!
